This blog, as the name says “Sarvam Sivamayam - EshwartheGod” is dedicated to the Great Lord Shiva (சிவபெருமான்). The blog shares little information about the greatness of worshipping Lord Shiva, ie. Shivavazhibadu (சிவவழிபாடு), About the Shaivism and the Sivanadiyars, who are known as Nayanmars, Thogayadiyars. The puranams of other great saints and rishis which tells about the greatness of the Mahadeva are also shared in this blog. This is just an idea to share the greatness of the supreme power Lord Shiva. This is just an idea trying to touch the tip of the iceberg, which is very enormous on its own.

சிவனொடுஒக் கும்தெய்வம் தேடினும் இல்லை
அவனொடுஒப் பார் இங்கு யாவரும் இல்லை
புவனம் கடந்தன்று பொன்னொளி மின்னும்

Shiva is the first and prime God of all the Gods and He is endless, he has no start and end. When Manikkavasagar refers, “ஒருநாமம் ஓருருவம் ஒன்றுமில்லாற் காயிரந் திருநாமம் பாடிநாம் தெள்ளேணங் கொட்டாமோ”. He has no name, no shape, He has nothing and we cannot predict Him, still we have given numerous names and calling Him to save us from our ignorance. He is nothing but the universe and He is the meaning of our life. Seeking Lord Siva will bring the meaning of our life and that is the immortal pleasure also.

Shivaperuman is known by various names such as Mahadeva; Hara; Rudra; Pushkara; Arthigamya; Sadachara; Sharva; Shambhu; Maheshvara; Chandrapida; Chandramouli; Vishva; Vishvamareshvara; Kapali; Nilalohita ..Etc. The Shiva Purana lists 1008 names for Lord Shiva. Shiva is not one among the Trimurthis’. The Trimurthis’ (மூம்மூர்த்திகள்) are actually, Brahma the creator, Vishnu the maintainer or preserver, and Rudrar the destroyer or transformer (considered as a form of Shiva and not Shiva himself). He controls all the activities of the Trimurthis’ and the whole universe (Andaperandams- அண்டபேரண்டங்கள்)
In Margandeyar Puranam we have pramanam(witness) for this
360 human years = 1 Deva year/Divine year
Krita-Yugam = 4000 divine years = 1,728,000 human years.
Treta-Yugam = 3000 divine years = 1,296,000 human years.
Dvapara-Yugam = 2000 divine years = 864,000 human years.
Kali-Yugam = 1000 divine years = 432,000 human years.
12000 divine years = 1 Chaturyugam
2000 Chaturyugams = 1 Brahma day
After 100 Brahma years the existing Brahma will retire and a new Brahma will take charge
2 crores Brahma changes = 1 Vishnu day
After 100 Vishnu years like this the Vishnu will retire and new Vishnu takes charge

1 crore Vishnu changes = It’s smiling time for Lord Shiva.
Fascinating right…..
And Margandeyar has seen 3 Brahmas…
