EshwartheGod: Life Time calculation of Yugams, Brahma and Vishnu

The fascinating calculation of yugams shows us how supreme power Lord Shiva.

This is in the Margandeyar puranam.

First 6 (human) months = 1 day for Devars (தை – ஆனி) - Uttrayanakalam

Next 6 (human) months = 1 night for Devars (ஆடி – மார்கழி) – Dakshinayanakalam

So 360 human days (1 human year) = 1 Deva naal/Divine day

i.e., 360 human years = 1 Deva year/Divine year

Krita-Yugam is 4000 divine years in length, Treta-Yugam is 3000 divine years in length, Dvapara-Yugam is 2000 divine years in length, and Kali-Yugam is 1000 divine years long, with the addition of the conjoining portions of the Sandhya and Sandhyansa.

(கிருதயுகம்) Krita-Yugam = 4000 divine years, Sandhya = 400 divine years, Sandhyansa = 400 divine years. Total = 4800 divine years x 360 days = 1,728,000 human years.

(திரேதாயுகம்) Treta-Yugam = 3000 divine years, Sandhya = 300 divine years, Sandhyansa = 300 divine years. Total = 3600 divine years x 360 days = 1,296,000 human years.

(துவாபரயுகம்) Dvapara-Yugam = 2000 divine years, Sandhya = 200 divine years, Sandhyansa = 200 divine years. Total = 2400 divine years x 360 days = 864,000 human years.

(கலியுகம்) Kali-Yugam = 1000 divine years, Sandhya = 100 divine years, Sandhyansa = 100 divine years. Total = 1200 divine years x 360 days = 432,000 human years.

12000 divine years = 1 Chaturyugam (சதுர்யுகம்)

1000 Chaturyugams = 1 day for Brahma

Another 1000 Chaturyugams = 1 night for Brahma

So 2000 Chaturyugams = 1 Brahma day
i.e., 720000 Chaturyugams = I Brahma Year

After 100 Brahma years è existing Brahma will retire and a new Brahma will take charge

1 crore Brahma changes = 1 day for Vishnu

1 more crore Brahma changes = 1 night for Vishnu

So 2 crores Brahma changes = 1 Vishnu day

After 100 Vishnu years like this è Vishnu will retire and new Vishnu takes charge (Thondrimaraidhal – தோன்றிமறைதல்)

1 crore Vishnu changes = It’s smiling time for Lord Shiva.
